In combining the form of the lotus and the idea of a third eye, my artwork is about awakening to a higher form of love. In mystic circles, the third eye represents enlightmenment and higher consciousness. In the same way, the lotus also symbolizes a kind of awakening and rebirth as the flower rises from the mud without stains. I wanted to make a sculpture about how awakening to one’s self and potential allows one to radiate and receive even more love.
