This piece is inspired by my sky kid rom Sky: Children of the Light @thatskygame, a game that became a little world of comfort during a time when I couldn’t leave my room because of the pandemic.
Curled up inside my home, I could still “go out”. I could wander and fly through different realms, return fallen light to the sky, and escape into a world that felt much bigger than the four walls around me.
What made it even more special was meeting people from different parts of the world who were also stuck inside their own little boxes. I met a firefighter, lawyer and law students, college students, teenagers and kids. We came from completely different places and lives, but somehow, we found a way to play, explore, and connect.
We Return to the Stars is my little tribute to that feeling—the comfort of escaping, the joy of connection, and the reminder that even when we feel confined, there are still worlds to discover and people to meet.
